What happens when art and institution collide?

In this video, I’m sharing the raw and unexpected story of what happened when a local church leader saw my latest painting—a reimagining of the Last Supper featuring Tasmanian Devils. While the piece was born out of a deep respect for nature and a desire to explore complex themes, the reaction I received was anything but supportive.

I’ll take you through the creative process behind this controversial piece, the symbolism I intended, and the moment the project was met with a firm "no." It’s a video about the boundaries of art, the challenge of being a creator in a traditional space, and why I believe it’s important to keep painting even when the world doesn't like what you have to say.

In this video, we discuss: The inspiration behind the "Tasmanian Devil Last Supper." ✅ The direct confrontation and why the painting was rejected. My thoughts on "banned" art and creative freedom. The emotional journey of dealing with institutional criticism.

Art is meant to spark a conversation, even if that conversation is a difficult one. I’m curious to know—have you ever had your work rejected or misunderstood? Let’s talk about it in the comments.

Join the conversation! Should art always be "comfortable," or is it the artist's job to push boundaries? I’d love to hear your perspective.
