Businesses reopen on Fountain Square following deadly shooting

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - For many, Monday marked the return to work at the Fifth Third Center on Fountain Square for the first time since last week's deadly shooting.

A few of the businesses opened back up over the weekend, but everyone returned to business on Monday and there were no shortage of reminders of what happened there late last week.

Flowers, cards and signs of support for the victims who died were all over Fountain Square.

On Thursday morning, a gunman opened fire inside the Fifth Third Center, killing three and wounding two others before police shot and killed him.

The entire horrific incident lasted less than five minutes, but it was five minutes that drastically changed many lives forever.

For those who ere there, they'll likely never walk into work with the same sense of security they had before. The memory of what happened last Thursday will be seared into their minds forever.

All planned events on the square will happen as scheduled this week, including trivia night, which runs from 7-9 p.m. on Monday.
