The current exhibition at Galería OMR in Mexico City is a solo show with works by Spanish artist Félix Curto. The exhibition is titled Western Stories and is based on Curto's road trips along the Mexican countryside and other territories. For Félix Curto, the way is more important than arriving. On his travels, he finds everyday objects and manipulates them. "The artist works by himself, finding, intervening, ripping apart and reconstructing the pieces. These become traces of his journeys across remote locations that are kept alive through memory. The work of Curto lies between life and reminiscence, on the ambiguous place between the real and the imagined." (excerpt from the press release). Félix Curto was born in Salamanca (Spain) in 1967. Since the late 1990s, the artist has spent long periods of time in Mexico.
