(2 Oct 2018) New video images from an aerial drone, exclusive to the Associated Press, show damage to parts of Sigi Regency following last Friday's earthquake and tsunami that decimated parts of the central Indonesian island of Sulawesi. Residents of the area - south of the biggest affected city, Palu - say they are in urgent need of food, clean water, medical teams and tents. They are also asking for search and rescue teams due to the number of collapsed buildings and the presence of dead bodies among the ruins. Rescuers have focused much of their attention so far on Palu which has 380,000 people and is easier to reach than other hard-hit areas. The confirmed death toll of more than 1,200 is expected to rise as authorities reach cutoff areas.
