The Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg (pictured right bottom inset) was 'empty chaired' (pictured main) after he refused to appear in front of a Commons select committee to be grilled on the Cambridge Analytica scandal. Instead he sent British Facebook executive Richard Allan (pictured top right) in his place, sparking fury among the politicians around the world who had travelled to the UK for the grilling. Charlie Angus, a politician from Canada, lashed Mr Zuckerberg for not bothering to show up to the committee, saying 'we are deeply disappointed'. Today's hearing comes after British MP Damian Collins used his parliamentary powers to seize a cache of secret documents from a company linked to the scandal. And today he revealed that they show a Facebook engineer in 2014 alerted the company to the fact that Russia appeared to be pulling 3 billion buts of data from Facebook a day.
