Patrick Schwerdtfeger discusses Twitter and getting new followers without having to proactively follow them first. In general (and this is a massive over-simplification), you get about 1% of your total Twitter following in new organic followers every day. So if you have 1000 followers, you will probably get about 10 new followers every day - people who find you all on their own. If you have 10,000 followers, you will get about 100 new followers per day and so on.

This video was recorded on August 15, 2009 in Berkeley, CA. It was part of a full-day workshop entitled Social Media Victories Real Businesses, Real Campaigns, Real Results which focused on how entrepreneurs, small business owners and self-employed service professionals can leverage Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube to grow their businesses.

Patrick is the author of Webify Your Business Internet Marketing Secrets for the Self-Employed (2009) as well as Make Yourself Useful Marketing in the 21st Century (2008). You can purchase the latest book on Amazon but you can also get it for free at the following website.

The email course does not have those itemized to-do lists.

This video is about getting new organic followers on Twitter. As you have more followers, you become visible to more and more people. So as you rise up the ranks, you will get more organic followers along the way. On average, you might get about 1% of your total following organically every day. So if you have 25,000 followers, you might get about 250 new ones organically every day.
