Two important new studies show tightly managing blood sugar helps diabetics avoid many of the complications of the disease, including kidney problems and heart disease. One study focused on Type 2 diabetes. The other, funded by the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, gives hope to those with Type 1. VOA's Carol Pearson reports.
