One theme took its rightful place in the midst of this experimentation: ritual. Whether they be sacred or symbolic, they are testimony to the strangeness of the rapport between Man and Time. As a precise ceremony or as gesture prescribed by the literature of a particular culture, rituals are at the center of the human paradox of movement and stillness, resistance and surrender, life and death. The fascination for dance, rhythm, ritual objects and the beliefs they imply are our principal influence.
