Juan Carlos Garrido of Chile is named Americas Athlete of the Month for May 2018. This is Garrido's successful lift from Berck-Sur-Mer where he finished with a silver.

Powerlifter Juan Carlos Garrido received 39 per cent of the public vote, with over 10,000 people voting.  

This is taken from the men's up to 59kg on day two of the 2018 World Para Powerlifting European Open Championships in Berck-Sur-Mer, France.

Berck-Sur-Mer 2018 features as a mandatory step on the qualification pathway for all European Para powerlifters striving to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
