Yeah, my X button wasn't working too well, so it took longer than it should have done.  But basically, you jump just right to enter the wall near the Paper Mario only area, then follow the out of bounds path in the right entrance for Gloomy Woods.

Just remember, if you do this too early, you don't have Trio Grab and are hence screwed.  If you do this too late, the paper platforms trap you between the forest entrance and the plains exit. 

But if you do this on time?  Then like me, you can skip the entire section with Boos and the King Boo fight.
