China Peak resort-goers 'stoked' to be hitting the slopes early in the season

LAKESHORE, California - The much anticipated wait is over, China Peak Mountain Resort officially opened Saturday.

The ski resort received a record amount of snow of nearly three feet in the last 10 days, and China Peak officials say they haven't seen this much snow since the 2010 season.

This is what everyone here says they were wishing for, fresh powder falling down and blanketing the mountain in the Sierra National Forest.
