Tina Newberry is one of the most creative representational artists working today. A long time Philadelphian, for some years she has been teaching at the University of Indiana. All her friends can’t wait until she retires and moves back. She told me about a painting from her Civil War series called “No, Lincoln, No”. Dazzling technique, imagination, and humor abound in Tina’s work. But there is also a profound sense of the struggles and fragility of human life. This is the second film in my series “Mind, Eye, and Hand, How Artists Create Images”.
