Octopath Traveler! We're rocking the title theme from this new Nintendo Switch RPG!

While I don't like to "rush" through new songs just to track trends, your reception to my Smash Bros Ultimate cover was so inspiring - Octopath Traveler HAD to be next. I was curious about this game around the E3 trailer last year, seeing a 2D-meets-3D sort of perspective and the idea of 8 heroes was equally intriguing. Once I played the demo and heard this grand title, I felt those Chrono Trigger and classic Final Fantasy vibes that instantly pull you in. The story alone has been simple enough to follow, with a combat system challenging and deep enough to keep me pulled.

As a cover, I wanted to work more on getting that nice crisp-highs tight low-end mix that's so common in the best of modern metal. I worked with GetGood Drums' Modern & Massive kit again for a reliable smacky drum sound while I opted for more smooth guitars instead of the very jarring daggery ones. I hope you all enjoy this song, try the game out, and look forward to maybe more?
