This advertisement was run on Iraqi Television station Niga TV, from 18th December to 1st January, promoting the Swedish Academy for Training in Erbil, Iraq. The Academy is a progressive public private partnership project between Scania, UNIDO, The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and the Iraqi Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (Kurdistan) to deliver modern courses in heavy equipment mechanics and operation, IT and English language training. Iraq is currently experiencing significant skills gaps in the job market to meeting the needs of modern industries, such as those operated by Scania. The academy will deliver training to support the significant but willing numbers of unemployed youth who currently lack the marketable skills to benefit from rapidly expanding industries in the country. The advertisement was more successful than anticipated and was taken off-air early having already attracted over 1,400 applicants to the Academy in its first two weeks of airing.
