The Philadelphia Eagles Blitz : Coach Doug Pederson pushed back this week against reporters who questioned his play calls late in a 21-17 loss to the Carolina Panthers.

Unable to get much going on the ground, Pederson called three straight pass plays with the Eagles holding a 17-14 lead in the fourth quarter. They turned it over on downs and gave up a go-ahead touchdown pass from Cam Newton to Greg Olsen, then fumbled the ball away on the drive that followed.

The defending Super Bowl champions fell to 3-4 with the loss, which extended a bumpy start where Philadelphia has yet to win back-to-back games. Now, they travel to London to face a Jacksonville Jaguars team facing a similar uphill battle. The Jags go into the Week 8 matchup having lost three straight games and face questions at quarterback and on their vaunted defense.

PennLive reporter Dustin Hockensmith tackled those subjects and more on this edition of the Philadelphia Eagles Blitz. Eagles beat reporter Daniel Gallen also joined the show to break down the Eagles-Jaguars matchup and give his prediction.
