On this BLAP:CAM episode, I went to Phoenix, AZ PASS THE AUX and talked about the importance of developing artists (01:24). You need to have a group of people that you can consistently collaborate with. Another great tip when working with others, especially vocalists, is to have enough space in the beat for them to write to. Find a balance between having it be melodic enough but not too complex to where songwriters feel overwhelmed. For those of you who are thinking about moving cities to pursue music and meet new people, I would say LA, NY or ATL (05:45). You don't have to move but if you wanted to be around like-minded people on a regular basis, these 3 cities are a good place to start. I also share some mixing tips, how to get kicks and 808s to punch through the mix (06:30) and so much more. Huge shoutout to The Local Donut (@thelocaldonut) in Scottdale, AZ for providing donuts and refreshments for everyone!
