I was stock piling some SMiLE related tracks into my PC and MP3 player today and, during the stuffing stage (which included ripping some vinyl into the PC/digital domain), I suddenly decided to share this boring process with the YouTube universe, thus the first of a series of moments destroyed with yours truly.

For those who don't know what this SMiLE business is, its the legendary supposed follow-up to The Beach Boys great under/overrated LP Pet Sounds. Beach Boy head honcho, Brian Wilson, made and recorded some ambitious plans for this LP until pressure, from the project, record label and the band (mainly Mike Love) got too much for him and pulled the plug.

From then on, SMiLE grew idiotically into the stratosphere of rock & roll legend and, much later, the bootleg market. It wasn't until 2004 when Wilson recovered and, with original lyricist Van Dyke Parks and his crack touring band, finally put in the missing unfinished pieces and finished SMiLE to wide acclaim and success, much to the more idiotic jargon of Mike Love.again. (See a pattern here!)

Here, you see me with my SMiLE pieces on display for the camera and the sound that was coming out of my PC in the middle of this unexciting moment. We now join me listening to a small bit of "Brian's Smile Session Party"...with the plastic goddess of music (?) Dawn looking on.

All copyrights acknowledged and then sent to bed without dinner.
