Just Can't Blow a Briggs!

Engine running wide open with the con rod bolts un-torqued, and 1/4 turn loose. The engine is screaming, but the rod bolts won't onscrew, even after 3 minutes. I tore the engine back apart, and the 5/16" socket sized con rod bolts had not loosened any more! Out of frustration, I installed the larger 7/16" socket sized bolts, and left them 2 turns loose, then it blew in 6 seconds.
