Each Spring Semester, for 20% of their grade, my Intermediate Khmer language students at UC-Berkeley and UCLA design, conduct, and do an oral presentation on original research on a topic of their choosing. This project is a study of the effects of the United States' accidental bombing of the Cambodian town of Nek Loeung (អ្នកលឿង), comprising secondary sources, archival research, and interviews with the student's father, who was an eyewitness to the events. The video was taped from the UC-Berkeley end of my "distance learning" Khmer broadcast to UCLA; students at UCLA join me and my students at UC-Berkeley daily in real-time over video.
