[email protected] Freezing rain began in the early morning hours of Monday - January 8th, 2018 with ice accumulations beginning shortly after across portions of Rainsville and Fort. Payne in DeKalb County, Alabama. A layer of ice was noted on cars, trees, powerlines, and many signs around the area. There have been slick spots on the roadways that have resulted in some accidents as well. 1. Rainsvile sign coated in thick ice 2. Visitor center sign showing ice. 3. Multi city sign showing heavy ice 4. Dodge Ram truck showing ice on the front grille 5. Chevy Silverado windshield completely iced over 6. Fender flare of Silverado with heavy ice. 7. Bug shields with heavy ice. 8. Trees showing a coating of ice. 9. Flag popping in the wind with ice load. 10. Side of a home with heavy ice accumulation 11. Mailbox with ice. 12.
