Vice President of the PNG Orchid Society, Godfrey Seeto, says while PNG has three thousand registered orchid species, there are still sightings of new orchid species in other parts of the country.  

He says PNG is one unique island nation in the Asia Pacific Region that can successfully grow hybrid orchids in the region.
