Urgent access is needed for those in need of critical assistance in Darfur says UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Sudan, Ameerah Haq. Today Mr. Haq asked for immediate access to over 100,000 civilians in South Darfur. Humanitarians have been trying to access those most in need since 7 February, but have not been given clearance for flights by local officials.
