Africa has unrivalled reserves of minerals and precious metals. Many of the continent's economies are extremely raw materials-oriented.But as the bizarre logic of the market goes,it is frequently those parts of the world with the greatest reserves that profit least from their extraction and sale. This applies in particular to Africa,which accounts for just two percent of global trade.
