Air Tattva, which is associated with the Heart Chakra, the center of kindness and compassion—where"Me" becomes "We." The mantra we will be using is "Guru Guru Wahe Guru, Guru Ram Das Guru," the mantra that invokes the spirit of Guru Ram Das: humility, healing, service, and compassion.
Open your heart with this 40-day meditation for the Air Tattva also called the Miracle Mantra. Cleanse and purify body, mind, and spirit with a sattvic diet—nourishing, fresh, easy to digest foods. Each day chant 11 minutes of the Miracle Mantra. Eliminate processed foods from your diet to boost our vitality and stamina. Let's make ourselves ready to take full advantage of the transformational energy of Aquarian Age!
The Air* tattva (or element) corresponds with the Fourth Chakra, which we associate with the Heart. The projection of Air is attachment ("I have my heart set on...") to earthly possessions. Note the distinction regarding earthly possessions between Earth (greed, or the desire to acquire) and Air! The difference is between grasping for things, vs. clinging to them.
Attachment to things leads to anxiety and indecisiveness, and according to the Buddha, suffering. Since tattvas represent what you are made of, they cannot be simply gotten rid of. Instead, re-channel attachment from specific things to the whole Universe. Love ideas and ideals, become attached to happiness and health and your connection to the divine.
The Air Tattva is associated with the Heart chakra. Although we don't often speak of this, your Heart chakra includes your lungs. Your heart's pumping circulates blood through the lungs and throughout the body. Take a little time every day to breathe consciously. As your chest rises and falls with the expansion and contraction of the lungs, bring your attention to how that feels. Let your attention fill your entire body, and notice where the prana from your breath flows. Perhaps there are places in the body where it doesn't; these may be places where we have stored emotional and physical pain from wounding. There it stays sequestered, but it has not healed.
Gently open those areas with the attention of your compassionate consciousness and the healing power of the prana in your breath. Breathe in healing, breathe out the stored trauma. Breath is life, and yet we can not hold on to it forever. You breathe in prana, and release the breath, creating room to breathe in more.
Use the breath to reintegrate those fractured fragments of your history and let them find their place in the whole person you are today. When you have learned to heal yourself, it becomes possible to feel our connection to the world. The compassion we brought to ourselves we can now bring more effectively to the world. Ultimately we discover there is no "me and out there", but just One. The joy and the pain of the world becomes our own.
