0:01:49 There was some narrations other Ulema have mentioned on how the Imam of our time will live with his family in Iraq. Is this true? What implications does this have? Will he be marrying someone from the Shia Community exclusively? 0:08:50 We are always told to prepare physically and spiritually for when the Imam comes. What exactly does this mean? Is there any indication as to what our roles as muslims will be once he comes (if for example we aren't in his Army for whatever reason). How will life change for us Shias? Will we all have to move to the middle east? 0:14:40 If preparing for the Imam means self building, does that mean we should not point efforts towards the community? 0:18:43 As Islam is a religion that places emphasis on self reformation, especially as prerequisite for any outer reformation/revolution. As youth living in Canada, what are some of the things we should do to engage in this inner reformation? Should there be a goal for any sort of outer reformation? If so, what should it be? 0:22:00 Are tattoos allowed in Islam? 0:27:56 What are the origins of Dua-e-Tawassul? 0:32:14 Most universities these days have both MSA Groups (Muslim Student Association which is predominantly Sunni) as well as TMA Groups (Thaqalayn Muslim Association, created by Shias within our communities). The MSAs have a lot of resilience towards Shias, and at times it seems there is quite a bit of friction. In this regard, what is our best option? Should we continue to try and build up the TMA groups, which furthers the divides between the 2 groups at universities, or should we be trying to integrate ourselves into the MSA groups, showing Muslims are united as one? How should we be performing tabligh within our Universities, and how can we best help create environments suitable for our shia brothers and sisters? 0:37:50 What to do about hatred by a minority of SOME Sunnis towards TMA, displayed by hostile actions? 0:41:08 Are there any exceptions to the 'Handshaking' rule between non-mahram males and females? (i.e. Harm on image of Muslims if you are a political representative, or have a government role, and the action of not shaking hands could possibly escalate the situation at hand.) 0:46:54 What does Islam say on females getting involved with politics? (Both volunteering and as a job) 0:48:30 Are there any specific Duas or Hajaat for specific situations in life? 0:50:22 It sometimes feels like us as Shias, have a lot to read and take in. What in your view are some books that EVERY Shia should read? 0:54:20 What is brotherhood in Islam? 1:05:40 How do we best respond to issues regarding gay marriage? 1:11:43 When looking at Palestine movements, be it rallies or boycotts, most participants are Muslims. The other side of the struggle uses that as a pretext to label Muslims as haters of the Jewish people. How do we combat this false image? 1:18:50 Islamic views on drawing portraits of living beings in art 1:20:16 Why does Islam discourage the drawing images of living beings? 1:22:05 Social media in Islam, specifically the use by public speakers and how they portray themselves? Use of social media by the youth as well. 1:28:08 What do you feel mosques and shia communities right now are doing wrong? What could they be doing better? 1:34:05 Muslim clubs on campus and the varying levels of tabligh. Are we doing it right, wrong, or is there a need for improvement? Other groups are more aggressive with tabligh, while ours are subtle, indirect. 1:39:40 As youth, one pressing issue we face is that of gender roles at home and in society, especially since these roles are different in Islam than in the mainstream Canadian outlook. How are we, as Muslim youth, supposed to understand this dilemma? And what are some ways we can defend our beliefs on this issue in public? 1:47:09 Social activism when it comes to social and political issues, there is a passiveness in the community. This presents contradictions between the Canadian culture and Islamic culture. NOTE: Audio from this point on is lost.
