The first of our three days coverage from the Kandersteg Ice Climbing festival.
Today we give you a rundown of the event, and we catch up with Piolet d'Or nominated alpinist, Andy Houseman, to find out where he has been doing his alpinism,

In the news today:

2 teams heading for Nanga Parbat this winter.

Only 2 of the 8000ers remain unclimbed in winter, one of which is 8,125m Naga Parbat in Pakistan. 16 teams have attempted to make the first winter ascent of the peak, so it's clearly pretty tricky! 2 strong teams are heading there this winter, a Polish 4 man team, including Marek Klonowski and Tomek Mackiewicz who already have experience of the peak, and the other expedition consists of Italian Alpinist Simone Moro and German climber David Gottler. Will this be the year this peak is completed in winter?
