How can a walk from school open a new world of exciting opportunity? Pursue your passion for biodiversity and science with your neighbors and community partners. Take an idea and ask a question to find experiments hiding in your own backyard. Chelsea Carver is a tenth grader from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She discovered her passion for science in middle school. Ever since then she has been busy with field studies in the areas of biology and earth science. Chelsea enjoys sharing the accessibility of science with students since all it takes is an idea and access to a park in order to create an exciting experiment or project. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
