In 2014, Gaby realised that it was her last chance to participate in the Kunstbende contest before exceeding the age limit. So she took the plunge and danced herself into second place! An integral part of Gaby’s act was the music, performed live. For the TEDxAmsterdamED audience, Gaby will be dancing to the music of Francis, the first prize winner of the Kunstbende 2014 Music category. Francis, who off-stage goes by the name of Veerle, studies classical piano at the Amsterdam Conservatory and plays in her own band, called Nbraska. This will be a collaboration and performance to remember.

Kunstbende is an organization aiming to discover, develop and showcase young talent. Over the last 25 years, Kunstbende has become the leading talent contest for young people between the ages of 13 and 18, with categories including dance, expo, language, DJ, fashion, film, music and theatre. Through an intensive trajectory of workshops, open podia, regional qualification rounds and a national final, Kunstbende stimulates young creative talent to take their first steps onto the professional stage. 
Two of the acts performing for the TEDxAmsterdamED audience have started their creative journey with Kunstbende – JESS and Gaby Ong & Francis.
