I was asked last minute if I wanted to join a project "Love for Nippon" up in Northern Japan, so I took my guitar and spent a day with the beautiful people of Miyagi!!

It was so amazing to see what people are doing up there to bring joy and hope to themselves and each other!!  There was a little festival at one of the refugee centers in Yamamotocho..  where there were about 500 people staying. 
There was acupuncture and massage therapists to bring comfort to those whose bodies have been under a lot of stress from sleeping on concrete floors.  Cotton candy for the kids, Clowns, food, clothes and the kids wanted to play my guitar more than they wanted to hear me sing, hehe.. but it was such a priviledge to be there and be part of it.

Much respect to the Japanese self defence force who are working so hard and even singing and playing instruments in their free time to bring joy to people.

Candle June who is normally a candle artist has been driving back and forth constantly taking supplies to those areas that have been neglected. He is at the centre of what "Love for Nippon" is doing.

I have never seen so much destruction, but at the same time my heart is filled with hope. There is so much hope for Japan, so much hope to rebuild and start afresh.  Candle June was saying and I totally agree "Let's build a future where one day we can be grateful for what happened.. No just get our lives back to the way it was.. but move above and beyond that."

山本町に行って、一日　Love for Nippon の炊き出しに参加しました。５００人今そこで避難してます。　本当に素敵な人達に会えて、一人一人の話をシェアして貰えました。マッサージやはりも出来る人がボランティアで来たり、ピエロ、わたあめ、色んな人が応援の気持ちで集まって、本当に皆の優しさと心強さに感動しました。

とても悲しいけど、心の中には希望も溢れます。

元気な私達には何が出来るか？？　
一人一人日本の為に何が出来るか。。
もしかしてそれは今与えられた仕事を一生懸命する事かもしれない、募金する事かもしれない、ボランティアする事かもしれない、自分の家族を大切に愛する事、守る事かもしれない。。　それぞれ違う役名だと思います。

Let's keep praying for Japan!!
God's love, and people's love can overcome this.
