On May 5th 2012 there was a gathering of musicians, friends and colleagues at the site of Strawhouse Studio in Rugby, Warwickshire, UK. The first of its kind in the UK - purpose built. With a mixture of songs, readings, prayer bowls, temple bells and large amounts of hot chocolate and biscuits (it was an unusually cold day during the wettest year on record in the UK) we laid the first bales of straw to build the studio walls. The first performance was from local Rugby artist and singer-songwriter Hollie Aires (15). Hollie is also a member of the Big Help Academy - a development scheme for talented young artists - and the Academy's new home will be at Strawhouse Studio.
