This talk was presented at the 2015 Joint Fall Meeting of the APS and AAPT New England Sections held at Dartmouth College. It represents a new approach for how to deal with gravity. By switching from tensors to quaternions, a new sort of information becomes available, space-times-time (dt dR). The quaternion gravity proposal asserts space-times-time is invariant as one moves around a gravitational field. The algebra for QG is far simpler than solving the ten non-linear field equations of general relativity.

Special relativity is an algebraic constraint on all expressions in physics. Quaternion gravity tries to make a similar constraint.

One improvement of GR is that for EM, the geometry can be figured out based only on the EM fields themselves (specifically the Poynting vector). In GR, the background metric has to be supplied.
