Tim Reeve, V&A Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer, talks about the relief panels from the 'Porta Magna' of the Basilica of San Petronio, Bologna. These iconic objects from the V&A's cast courts are currently on display at the Venice Biennale's 'A World of Fragile Parts' exhibition, which runs until 27 November 2016. The exhibition is the V&A's Special Project for the Applied Arts Pavilion in collaboration with La Biennale di Venezia. It explores the threats facing the preservation of global heritage sites and how the production of copies can aid in the preservation of cultural artefacts.
