Iowa Coverage at http://www.theuptake.org Editor's note: Corrine McDermid is in Iowa to cover the Iowa Caucuses for The UpTake. To get there she had to drive from Denver to Des Moines. She found some stark differences between how legacy media such as newspapers and TV are treated vs. "new" media types. Driving cross country is one of the most visual things a person can do. Passengers get distracted and look down or drowse off, but driving keeps your eyes scanning the horizon, and almost always lighting on some kind of beauty. So the heck with fly-over country, drivin' is still marginally cheaper and the carbon footprint is arguable. And what a destination for a road trip! The middle of it all. The political three ring, no, four, no, at least six, possibly ten ring circus. Take a peek behind the scenes as I arrive at Press Central, the Polk County Convention Center, to get settled in. It won't look this serene for long!
