David Hamilton Koch was born on 3 May 1940 in Wichita, Kansas, to Mary Robinson Koch and Fred Chase Koch. Together with his brother, Charles G. Koch, David transformed their father’s company which was renamed Koch Industries Inc. from a company with revenues just over $100 million in the 1960s to one estimated at over $115 billion by 2014. The Koch brothers, David and Charles, co-own Koch Industries, one of the largest privately owned companies in the world.
