In order to secure the help of the Turians, Commander Shepard must first enlist the support of the Krogan. Their price: to cure the genophage. 

Mordin Solus, the Salarian scientist and former crew member from ME2, proposes to employ "The Shroud", a facility used to stabilize the atmosphere of Tuchanka (and covertly deliver the original Genophage) to spread the cure.

Since this is a full renegade playtrough (I like the paragon way better, but I wanted to see the game from the other end of the spectrum) I had to make a few hard and ruthless choices, like destroying Malon's data in ME2 (which leads to Eve's death in ME3), not telling anybody about the STG's sabotage to The Shroud, and killing Mordin when he refuses to go along with the deception. This one was particularly sad, since Mordin is one of my favorite characters in the series and I had hoped to save him, but that would've required Wrex to die in ME1, and he survived, even when playing that part full renegade (I had a high "Intimidate" score, enough to convince him to stand down on Virmire).
