Two different methods used to move loads up a steep slope. 1. Tip tie whole stems, cut off at base, yard it upslope with the chipper winch. 2. After removing a 100 foot Douglas-fir, much further down slope, utilizing a "reverse" speed line terminated high enough in a cedar above the downed brush. Attach to speed line, tension with chipper winch. Used Simpson capstan winch to assist in yarding brush, once speed line was taut. Same as high lead logging. Chain saw winch broke, but there was just enough line angle to get the brush up the hill anyhow after the line was tensioned.
