Students and faculty protest the closure of St. Petersburg's European University in February for alleged fire safety violations. One video shows students laying a fire hose at the foot of a monumnent to Russian scientist Mikhail Lomonosov, considered the father of higher education in Russia. Protesters also staged a street performance mocking the fire safety charges that forced the closure. Footage shot by Ilya Utekhin on February 29 and March 7, 2008.
