In a country where labels are systemic – across politics, employment and more – they can also form the chains that hold us back from our ambitions. Business executive Tina McKenzie reflects on how we break the chain and define ourselves in our own terms. Tina McKenzie is an award-winning business leader, having worked across Europe over the last 20 years to connect people with the right skills with the right jobs. Her exuberance and passion are matched by none, with a focus on disrupting old conceptions of Northern Irish business whilst leading three multimillion pound turnover businesses in Ireland. Named the European Ambassador for Women’s Entrepreneurship in 2016, her enthusiasm for supporting women and Northern Ireland business has been recognised worldwide. Having won awards from Women in Business and led Staffline Group to win the Fast Growth Business of the Year Award from UTV/Business Eye in 2015, this year Tina was named a Director of the Year by the Institute of Directors and will represent Northern Ireland in the UK Final in November @tinamckenz This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
