Make A Roguelike: How To Locked Doors

Making doors that need keys introduces the concept of items and inventory which are essential to a game being "RogueLike" because they create a form of player progression. We can do it with ONE event if we set up a dictionary right we only need ONE item object (with different animations) just match the item's instance variable "type" value with the dictionary key and that's how many you have. Doesn't matter if it's keys, twinkies or rubber chickens. Just one of the many concepts and examples that will come with my Make A RogueLike book!
