Natalia Ponce de León's life was forever changed when she became the victim of an acid attack. Colombia has one of the highest rates of acid attacks per capita in the world, but there were no laws that adequately brought justice to victims - this led her to campaign for a law, named after her, which defines acid attacks as a specific crime and increases maximum sentences to 50 years for offenders.
