Maiden Alley Cinema—an independent theater in Paducah, Ky that supports local music—puts on Music@MAC once a month. Acclaimed musician J.T. Oglesby contacted KET several months ago suggesting coverage of the thriving music scene here, prompting this KET segment. News that KET was coming to town prompted, in turn, a special edition of Music@MAC.

This sold-out concert, aptly named "Three-Way Tie for First," features J.D. Wilkes and the Dirt Daubers, Solid Rock'it Boosters, and the Wheelhouse Rousters. We spoke with some of the musicians—Nathan Blake Lynn, Josh Coffey and Eddie Coffey of the Wheelhouse Rousters and J.D. Wilkes—as well as Landee Bryant, the director of Maiden Alley, about the rich diversity of music here in Western Kentucky.

This special night featured sluegrass and folk, country and rockabilly, blues and rock—a fitting tribute to the area's musical heritage. Oglesby acknowledged that heritage during the concert by playing a vintage guitar owned by Western Kentucky music legend Mose Rager, a major innovator in the intricate art of thumbpicking.
