Excellent hike on the Catawba Falls Trail in Pisgah National Forest in Old Fort, NC. The hike closely follows the Catawba River by Lower Catawba Falls and Catawba Falls. On this day the water flow was great. The trail is technically closed above Catawba Falls, but I risked the steep scramble which had great view points along Catawba Falls. The trail leads to the beautiful Upper Catawba Falls,. Hopefully the USFS will figure out a way to route this trail safely in the future.
