I've gotten every upgrade in the game now. It's finally time to go through its last few stages.

X & Zero have finally found Sigma's base, which is on an island. Zero decides that they should split up. By that, I mean Zero goes on ahead through the base, fighting and distracting them, while X slowly sneaks in from behind while the bases' defenses aren't up to par.

--------------

Again, if you have the secret Hadoken upgrade, you can only use it when you're at full health.

Watch out for the part with all of those flying platforms. Good thing you can still wall jump off of them.

--------------

After going inside, X encounters Vile, who almost killed him at the beginning of the game. Zero then appears to take Vile head on.

Offscreen, you can hear them fighting, but once you have X reach them up ahead, you'll discover that Vile has trapped Zero in an electric cage, thank to the help of his Ride Armor.

Now of you have to try to fight Vile again, just like before!

Although X is much, much stronger at this point, none of his weapons are able to damage Vile's Ride Armor. Even the ridiculously powerful Hadoken doesn't hurt at all, and I've hit him with that several times!

Same as before, you just have to let Vile beat the crap out of you again. You could at least try to put up a good fight like I did, here, but really. It's pointless.

--------------

So after about a minute, X is highly damaged and paralyzed from the fight. Vile takes him to the other side, and gloats that he's just beaten two strong robots.

Suddenly, Zero musters up his strength to break loose from his cage. He latches on to the back of Vile's Ride Armor, and blows himself up just to destroy the mech once and for all.

It looked like Zero's sacrifice was in vain, as Vile was still more than capable enough to finish off X without X being able to do anything about it.

Or so he thought, anyway. Seeing his closest ally & friend sacrifice himself over nothing resummoned X's will to fight. He fully heals himself and he can move again.

vile doesn't see this as a threat, and decides to take down X one last time with his own weapons.

--------------

Vile will mostly leap across the screen. He sometimes drops bombs from his knee while he's doing this, and he will also dash around on the ground and shoot at you with his shoulder cannon.

Like the Mavericks, Vile has some weaknesses: Homing Torpedos & Rolling Shields. Use thoses to do more damage to him than usual if you don't just wanna drain all of his health in one hit with a Hadoken.

When Vile is defeated, he blows up, and he doesn't die with any parting words to go with it.

--------------

X then runs over to Zero, or at least, what's left of him. That explosion he made destroy his whole bottom half, and the rest of him wasn't going to last much longer from there.

With his remaining energy left, Zero now believes that X has become as strong, if not stronger than him. He then leaves defeating Sigma to X, then dies by disintegrating. He will be missed.

--------------

Despite all of that buildup, that was still only one half of the stage.

Through the different Sigma stages, here, the Mavericks you defeated before will come back to stop your progress, just like the Robot Masters in Mega Man 1.

In this level, only Boomer Kuwanger returns. Beat him with Homing Torpedoes if you want to.

--------------

The real end of this stage has you fight against the Bospider. As it goes downward in the battle, it will take every detour it comes across along the way. Those lines change every time.

Take note of that to know which one of the four ends it will reach, letting you dodge it from hitting you. Once it hits the floor, its core opens up and lets you hit it.

The best weapon to use again the Bospider is the Shotgun Ice, so shoot it with that as soon as it hits to ground.

Once you beat this boss, you'll finally beat the level. Only 3 more to go!
