I got a new drum kit. Its Yamaha 8000 Tour Custom from late 80's in custom mirror chrome finish, this line was never offered originally in mirror chrome. The snare is self made custom drum, 8mm birch shell with Yamaha Recording Custom hardware, also in mirror chrome.

I'm still looking for another 24"x18" bassdrum, but in the meantime, I'll be playing 22"x16" bd's instead.

This is the first recording made with these drums, its the drum track of a new Antabus song, its sort of a teaser, I wont reveal more for now, if you're interested in hearing the rest of it, come see us live. This drum arrangement is heavily influenced by Megadeth drummers Gar Samuelson and Nick Menza, two of my all time favourite drummers and as they're not around any more, (May they rest in peace.) somebody's got to play the kind of stuff they did. ;)

Drums were recorded old school style with one dynamic microphone. All that was done to the sound is EQ-curve, multiband compressor and reverb. The sound is quite natural and close to how these things sound by ear. I'm fairly pleased with the result, specially the toms sound awesome.

From now on' I'll be recording everything with this setup, all I need is better recording gear.
