There is often stigma around handicapped people that they are not capable of doing things on their own and that they need others' help to have a normal life. But Mr. Sheker Goud gets rid of those false assumptions by cycling from Leh-Ladakh to Kanyakumari, who had his right arm and his left leg amputated after an almost fatal accident. He pushed through all the difficulties thrown at him and emerged successful. He has not only cycled the length of India, but he completed 169 km on a gearless bicycle and 15 marathons till date. Now he is planning a tour in the USA and is aiming to represent India for Paracycling in 2020. Sheker Goud is an electrical trade student, turned para-cyclist after his almost fatal accident which cost him his arm and a leg. Despite of all his disabilities, he did not give up and pursued sports to rebuild his confidence and stood as a motivational figure. Till date, he completed 15 marathons, 169km cycling on a gear-less cycle and completed a cycling course from Leh-Ladakh to Kanyakumari. Now, he is planning a cycling tour in USA and aims to represent India for para-cycling in 2020. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
