In a tweet, Sean Carroll claimed Einstein was more upset by non-locality of measurements than chance in quantum mechanics. That sounds right to me too. But what is non-locality, physically? If one uses a complex-valued Hilbert space for QM, I do not know of an answer. I am working on quaternion series quantum mechanics. Instead of writing an "i", I always write "i, j, k". This makes them map to normal 3D space. To calculate an observable, one multiplies a wave function by its conjugate to get the probability of observing an event. I don't know what that means physically for complex numbers. For quaternions, it is a 3D mirror reflection. Being non-local means the 3D reflection is non-local. That sounds reasonable.
