Since the game isn't out yet, I can only give my opinions on what the demo offers right now. In terms of a adventure game where you discover hidden things in a certain location much like Indiana Jones for Lego, it's fine. But in terms of a Sonic game, it definitely bores me. It feels like they are trying too hard to make the game has certain element from a Sonic game, which could be good but not well implemented here. For example we have loops and fairly long straight path made just so you can have some parts that you can actually run faster, but as we all know, the 3DS version is in 2.5D (or in most case in 2D only), those fast sequence are extremely short and automatic. Unless you play the race with Sticks, it's even more automatic with small portion that you need to use the enerbeam here and there. (And it feels like exactly Sonic Rivals). For Warm Tunnel, it's fast paced, which is a good thing, but as I played it a few times, I don't feel like playing it anymore and here's why. First of all there is no challenge whatsoever, the whole gimmick is that you auto-run forward, you use d-pad or analog stick to move left and right, and some point you have to use enerbeam to get up to a track, that's it. I understand it might be the first level of "tunnel running" (assuming there are other stages like this in the real game), there will not be that many challenges, but you don't even have to jump here! I would compare this to Temple Run for Android or iOS (cuz this is basically I think what it is) but even Temple Run has more challenges besides dodging left or right. That rings don't even do anything, if you run in to the end of a lane, you die and restart. Maybe they do something in the future but they didn't explain really well in this demo. For the control (for tunnel running), it's bad. We have the ability to boost here, however, during boosting, you can no longer move left or right. I am sure that everyone who first played this stage will die at least once because you were boosting and you run to a dead end of a lane because you can't move left or right. Why can't I move when I am boosting? For the normal stages (Seaside Beach with 4 characters), I'm fine with it to be honest, it's because I didn't look it as a "Sonic Game". Like I said I compared it to LEGO Indiana Jones, it's pretty fun. All four characters shares some of the moves with some unique abilities. But one problem is that the stages can be quite long, the first time I play this stage I spent about 10 minutes and then 6-8 minutes. It's not really a big problem, but the stages are only going to be longer. But again, this is just my opinion of the demo, not the full game. I really hope the full game has more to offer us then what we've played in the demo.
