A slowed version of the left had showing the basic way I play "Say, Darwin, Say" ( https://youtu.be/22DqDhaHPnY )which is, of course, based on "Say, Darlin', Say." I'm tuned aCGCD and capoed 2 so I'm playing aDADE.
I change to the IV chord (G) on the 3rd beat of the 2nd measure (i.e. on the word "word" in the first verse), rather than wait for the B note found on the first beat of the 2nd measure ("Papa's"), which is more traditional. As "word's" melody note (D) is found in both the I (D) and IV chords, I found that I liked the subtle added tension induced by the earlier change.
