2017 Times Square New York Walking Tour.  We are on the way to Times Square along 42nd Street which is the world's most visited tourist attraction with an estimated 130 million visitors annually, this translates to a daily foot traffic of 360,000 visitors.  It is a must visit attraction if you are in the city for the vibe, a few pictorials and a bit of shopping or a Broadway show.  It is best known for the iconic ball drop on New Year’s eve which has been a tradition since December 31, 1907.  A recent addition to Times Square is the Pedestrian Plaza  which was started by Mayor Michael Bloomberg in February 2009 and was completed in 2016.  Traffic lanes along Broadway from 42nd Street to 47th Street were closed and sidewalks were extended with seating areas which added a central square feel to make Times Square more pedestrian friendly with street artists and performances.
