Facebook Alerts Assam Police, Prevents Minor Girl From Committing Suicide

The Assam police stopped a girl from killing herself in Guwahati after the Facebook headquarters in the US alerted them about a post written by the girl. The girl had expressed her wish to kill herself on the social networking site. "Info was received from Facebook last night that a girl had updated her status as 'I am gonna to commit suicide today'. The child was located in 30 mins and her safety ensured. She and her family were counselled. She is safe and in their care," the Assam police tweeted.
